Reflecting on Our Achievements: Business Highlights of 2024
As 2024 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the milestones and achievements that have shaped our year. From expanding our services to enhancing customer satisfaction, this year has been filled with growth and exciting developments. In this post, we’ll highlight some of the key moments that made 2024 a standout year for Ex Clean (formerly known as Elite Wash Exterior Cleaning).
Our First Roof Clean: LS8
After months of research, training, and advice from industry experts, we were finally ready for our first roof cleaning job. The opportunity came when a customer asked us to clean their roof following a gutter clearance through our CheckaTrade Profile. And what a job it was—the heaviest moss we had ever encountered! This was certainly a challenging project to dive into, but we rose to the occasion.
The job took us two days to complete at the time, but now, with more refined techniques and greater efficiency, we could easily finish the same job in a single day. It’s a great example of how far we’ve come in improving our processes and skills.
Overcoming Van Troubles: A Test of Perseverance
Not every moment of 2024 was a smooth ride. Our beloved first van experienced multiple breakdowns throughout the year. This created delays for our customers and put a strain on our cash flow—a key challenge for any small business.
But we persevered. We borrowed vans, rented vehicles, and did whatever was necessary to keep operations running smoothly. There were many moments when it would have been easy to throw in the towel, but we refused to give up. The real highlight of this challenge was the perseverance, adaptability, and grit we showed in keeping things moving, even when times were tough.
Attending the Pureseal Training Course
The Pureseal Training Course was an invaluable experience. While health and safety content is often dry and repitive, this time, it was extremely useful. We gained essential knowledge on the safe storage, transport, handling and usage of chemicals and sealers, which we now use daily.
The course also covered cleaning techniques for various surfaces, including the equipment, methods, and chemicals we apply. Although much of the material was already familiar, the real difference between a good and excellent service lies in the small details—the tips and techniques that only come from trusted, experienced professionals. This course has been instrumental in elevating our expertise and refining our skills.
Our First Sealing Job: WF9
Armed with our new skills and knowledge, we took on our first sealing job in WF9. With the confidence gained from the Pureseal Training Course, we were ready to tackle the project with precision and care. The job involved cleaning and sealing a block-paving driveway, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the result!
Before we could apply the sealant, we had to ensure the driveway was thoroughly cleaned—a messy job but essential for a flawless finish. We returned the next day for sanding and sealing, and the weather was on our side: ideal temperatures, no rain, and perfect moisture levels in the blocks.
The final result was a beautifully restored driveway, and the customer was absolutely delighted with the transformation.
Wrapping Up 2024: A Year of Growth and Resilience
In conclusion, 2024 has been a year of both challenges and triumphs. We've met incredible people, delivered high-quality work, and formed valuable connections along the way. While the road wasn’t always smooth, each challenge presented an opportunity for growth. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we’re excited for what the future holds.
